sabakuningannews.com.KUNINGAN— Puncak kegiatan GAYA SEMESTA (Gelar Karya, Seremonial Ending of Peace Corps Volunteer Program, serta Menanam Sastra dan Alam) di SMP Negeri 2 Kuningan berlangsung meriah pada Selasa (5/5/2026).
Kegiatan ini sukses menarik perhatian publik karena memadukan unsur budaya, literasi, dan kepedulian lingkungan dalam satu momentum besar.
Acara ini menjadi bagian dari peringatan Hari Pendidikan Nasional dan Hari Bumi, dengan konsep integratif yang mengedepankan kreativitas siswa sekaligus kesadaran terhadap pelestarian alam.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Bupati Kuningan secara resmi meluncurkan buku karya kolektif siswa berjudul “In Another Life”. Buku ini merupakan hasil dari program ekstrakurikuler literasi “Sakura” (Satu Karya Kolektif Buku Karangan Siswa), yang menjadi bukti nyata geliat literasi di kalangan pelajar.
Tak hanya itu, Bupati juga meresmikan gerakan Gema Samapta (Gerakan Menanam Seribu Tanaman Pot Bunga) di lingkungan sekolah. Program ini bertujuan menciptakan lingkungan hijau sekaligus menanamkan nilai cinta alam kepada para siswa sejak dini.
Kegiatan ini juga menjadi momen haru perpisahan dengan relawan Peace Corps, Cassandra (Miss Case), yang telah mengabdi selama kurang lebih dua setengah tahun dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris siswa dan tenaga pendidik di SMPN 2 Kuningan.
Bupati Kuningan menyampaikan apresiasi dan rasa terima kasih atas dedikasi yang telah diberikan selama bertugas, serta berharap kolaborasi internasional seperti ini dapat terus berlanjut di masa mendatang.
Sementara itu, Kepala SMP Negeri 2 Kuningan, Dr. Ariyanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., menegaskan bahwa gerakan Gema Samapta merupakan bagian dari komitmen sekolah dalam mewujudkan program Adiwiyata.
“Menanam seribu tanaman dalam pot adalah upaya menghadirkan lingkungan yang hijau dan asri, sekaligus menanamkan nilai kepedulian terhadap alam kepada siswa,” ujarnya.
Dengan terselenggaranya GAYA SEMESTA, SMPN 2 Kuningan tidak hanya menunjukkan prestasi dalam bidang akademik dan seni, tetapi juga membangun karakter siswa yang peduli lingkungan, kreatif, dan siap bersaing di tingkat global.(*)
